The solo exhibition held at the Palacio del Infante Don Luis, a public institution located in Madrid, gathers a varied sample of Carlos Azañedo's work.
This solo exhibition is held in a 18th-century neoclassical palace located in Madrid that was the residence of the Infante Don Luis, and where famous figures such as Goya, Luigi Boccherini and Ventura Rodriguez, the architect who designed the palace, stayed.
The exhibition brings together the different creative processes and the respective series of paintings that the artist is developing. It offers paintings with different techniques and colour palettes, but with a common denominator: the ability to capture the complexity and atmosphere of different scenarios with a precise but fluid painting technique.
This solo exhibition includes the first series of Carlos’ landscapes, which are shown to the public for the first time. There are also works of festive scenes in mixed media on paper, as well as inks and watercolours of the city of Madrid painted by Carlos in situ.
Throughout the exhibition you can feel the sensitivity with which Carlos depicts the world we live in.
Many of the works remind us of places we have visited, but they are a mixture of many at once, and none of them in particular. Carlos manages to make the viewer appropriate the scenarios to their memories, experiences, and dreams.
